And it’s not the job of anyone what but uninformed to educate themselves. It’s not korraisnottan’s job to break things down into helpful little nuggets that you’re comfortable with. If the author is angry, and hurt or whatever by whitewashing in fanfic or fan art, guess what - they have every right to express that - without making it a teachable moment for someone else. Their emotions are legit, and they do not have to break down the causes for you simply because you don’t understand/think it’s unfair/whatthefuckever
